Being located on the edge of Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Dales means there are so many things to do when visiting Woodhouse Farm.

Nidderdale is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Yorkshire Dales is one of our National Parks. There are a number of outdoor activities which the whole family can enjoy together in our beautiful part of the world.

Mountain Biking

In addition to the short cycle track around the park (ideal for children), there are some great rides both on the roads and moorland tracks. Woodhouse has a number of favourites and we would be pleased to arrange a group ride if there is enough demand; secure bike storage is also available on site. Contact reception for more information.

Walking

There are plenty of walks around the farm leading up onto the moors and narrow lanes of the unspoilt countryside. The area is surrounded by farmland with grazing cattle, sheep and plenty of wildlife including rabbits, hares, pheasants and deer. Ask at reception for directions to a few varied walks.

Fishing

Woodhouse has two coarse fishing lakes with Common, Crucian and Mirror Carp, Rudd, Chubb, Roach and Perch.

Horse Riding

The local countryside is perfect for hacking and pony trekking and we recommend Masham Riding Centre which offers excellent facilities for experienced and novice riders.

Golf

There are plenty of good golf courses around Ripon and we would be pleased to provide more information on request. Two local cources are Ripon City Golf Club and Masham Golf Club.

Woodhouse Farm is also the perfect base for day out, with lots of interesting places to visit within easy reach. Visit our Places to visit page for more information.

For more information about any of the activities above, please just ask at reception or give us a call.
